Mermaid cove is just the place for a magical, whimsical, COLORFUL stay by the beach. The house was obviously furnished by someone that truly knows how to enjoy life. From the fun colors and kitschy decor, to the free beach toys, wagon, grill and little blue wagon in the garage, to the comfy bedrooms, each with thoughtful little touches like lamps and baskets of novels with everything from HG Wells to the latest bestseller, they clearly want you to enjoy yourself. And we did!!! Our whole family fell in love with the place. It's in a nice neighborhood full of similarly well named bright stilt houses and about one to two blocks' walk from a really great private beach. The shower is great and has good pressure, the house was clean and well laid out, TONS of guest towels, good cable selection. Highly recommended!

“Great Get Away!” We had the best time at this cute beach house. It is in a quiet neighborhood outside just a short drive out of town. The house was clean and very nicely decorated. Someone must like Pinterest because the decorating ideas were simple and tasteful. It had everything we could possibly need including pans, beach equipment, and character. The beach was a short walk down the street, not crowded and well maintained. The owners have thought of everything! I would definitely recommend this rental if you want a quiet family stay close to the beach, for a reasonable rate.

Magical Experience at Mermaid Cove. A perfect blend of exotic and comfy, Mermaid Cove delighted my family at every step of our Thanksgiving vacation. Beds of various sizes, rooms decorated artfully with mermaids and seashells, rooms tucked around a welcoming living area - talk about perfect accommodations for my three daughters, my mother, her Maltese, and my wife and I. We had a rental car but never even wanted to leave the property, except for the 5-minute walk to the beach. The full kitchen made Thanksgiving easy. The available beach toys and lawn games entertained the whole family. Our four-day, four-night stay was far too short. And of course, the booking and logistics were easy and the area was beautiful. The owners made every effort to ensure our time in Galveston was memorable. And they succeeded with flying colors.
